Petroleum Environmental Cleanup Fund Award (PECFA) The PECFA program was created in response to
enactment of
federal regulations requiring release prevention from underground
storage tanks and cleanup of existing contamination from those tanks.
PECFA is a reimbursement program returning a portion of incurred
remedial cleanup costs to owners of eligible petroleum product systems
including home heating oil systems. Program funding is generated from a
portion of a $0.02/gallon petroleum inspection fee. Basic Program and Site Information
If you need to view a file or obtain copies of documents regarding a PECFA site and you are not the owner or responsible party of the site, you must make an open records request to the Department in order to obtain the information.
