Project to create 23 jobs

MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today announced more than $2 million in state assistance for Inland Label and Marketing Services. The La Crosse company will receive a $2,050,000 Industrial Revenue Bond allocation and a $122,399 Customized Labor Training Grant from the Department of Commerce.

"In order to grow Wisconsin, it's important we move industries, companies, and communities forward, and create good-paying jobs for our citizens," Governor Doyle said. "I am pleased that we could help Inland Label and Marketing Services expand its business and train its employees on new equipment."

"We are pleased to see the state take a proactive approach to growing manufacturing by creating or enhancing private/public partnerships for improvement, investment and training," said Mark Glendenning, CEO of Inland Label and Marketing Services. "These programs are geared to helping companies willing to invest in the state an even better opportunity to survive, improve, and grow. We look forward to their continued support as we begin our journey in becoming a Lean manufacturer."

Inland Label and Marketing Services has been family owned and operated since 1944. Inland's Label division prints labels primarily for the beverage industry, while its Marketing Services division provides assembly, fulfillment, packaging and distribution services. Due to the company's strong growth, it is constructing and equipping a 63,000-sq.-ft. addition to its Airport Road facility at an investment exceeding $10 million. It will train 107 current employees and 23 new employees on new equipment. The training project will leverage $122,399 in private investment.
