Governor Doyle Announces Funding to Increase Export Development for Wisconsin Small Businesses
For Immediate Release: September 23, 2008 MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today announced that six small businesses will share $30,000 in Wisconsin Trade Project (WTP) Program grants to market their products at international trade shows. "The success of Wisconsin's economy is directly tied to the success of Wisconsin firms in international markets. I am proud to say that since I took office, we've increased exports by 80 percent - 12 percent this year alone," Governor Doyle said. "These grants will help further widen and deepen our markets, bringing more good jobs to Wisconsin." The following companies have each earned WTP grants for $5,000:
The Wisconsin Trade Project Program provides individual grants up to $5,000 to reimburse small Wisconsin companies for expenses incurred while attending an international trade show, such as booth rental, product literature translations, or displays. High-tech companies can also receive a grant to attend a trade show held in the U.S. that has international attendees. The program does not pay for travel, lodging, or related costs.
