For Immediate Release: January 7, 2009
Contact: Tony Hozeny, Department of Commerce, 608-267-9661

MADISON - Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Cashton Farm Supply, Ltd. in Black River Falls will receive $150,000 in Technology Zone tax credits to construct and equip a new feel mill and office facility in Cashton.

"To grow Wisconsin, we must continue to invest in our economy and foster technology growth, even during these difficult economic times," Governor Doyle said. "Cashton Farm Supply is one example of how these investments can help companies expand and purchase new equipment, which will help them continue to grow and prosper."

Cashton Farm Supply, Ltd., which is based in Jackson County, was established in 1984 as a source of farm supplies and related services in the area. A fire destroyed the existing mill and offices in July 2008. A state leader in the organic feed industry, the new facility will be equipped with state-of-the-art computerized grain measuring, grinding, mixing and blending equipment.

The company plans to use the funds to expand and equip its new 4,000 sq.-ft. facility in Cashton. Total cost of the project is $1.7 million. The project will result in the retention of 22 existing jobs in Cashton.
