City of Milton Delegated Responsibility For Erosion Control

For Immediate Release: January 29, 2009
Contact: Tony Hozeny, Department of Commerce, 608-267-9661

MADISON - Department of Commerce (Commerce) Secretary Dick Leinenkugel today announced that Commerce has delegated the City of Milton, Rock County, the authority to regulate erosion control, sediment control and storm water management for commercial buildings in the City of Milton.

"The City of Milton joins more than 190 other state municipalities that have been delegated the authority to perform regulatory activities on behalf of Commerce," Leinenkugel said. "This gives municipalities the opportunity to provide services on behalf of the state as well as their own enforcement activities on projects within the scope of their delegated authority. Typically municipalities can provide more immediate service to local projects."

Under agent delegation agreement, Howard Robinson and/or Mark Langer will be responsible for regulating erosion and sediment control at public buildings and places of employment, except state-owned buildings and structures, for the City of Milton.

Municipalities seeking further information regarding the commercial building agent program should contact Henry Kosaryzcki, Commerce, at 608/212-0138.
