S&B Boiler and Pressure Vessel Program

Safety requirements are enforced by Safety and Buildings Division staff for power boilers, heating boilers, pressure vessels, and nuclear power plant components. Shop and field consultation and inspections are provided. Boiler repairers are registered and boiler inspectors are certified.

NEWS

Proposed changes to Comm 2, Fee Code, Comm 5 Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations Code, and Comm 82, Plumbing Code were sent to the legislature September 24, 2009, for committee review. The proposed rules increase the permit to operate fees for boilers, pressure vessels, anhydrous ammonia systems, mechanical refrigeration systems, conveyances and passenger ropeways. The rules also update the registration process for certain cross connection control devices and clarify the plan review process for certain water treatment systems. See code development project.
